I fished on Columbus Lake with Shannon on Sat. Only fished about 4 hours and caught 15 to 20 keeper crappiei 10 to 12 inches. Could not locate the big ones but did some new work with the Humminbird side finder. Here are some examples of fish we located and caught.

Columbus Lake Crappie report 9-27-08 and 9-28-08

I fished the Tenn-Tom Columbus Lake Sat and Sun. Only fished half days both days, starting at daylight and ending by noon. Saturday I hand fished and caught about 12 with most most of my fish in 8 feet of water. Then I trolled and caught only one small crappiei. The 7 best fish weighed about 8 lbs. Sun I caught several crappie but nothing over a pound.

Columbus Tenn-Tom fishing report 9-20-08

I fished Columbus Lake Sat and Sun. Both days I fished from daylight till noon and caught the limit. Sat I hand fished and caught most of my fish in 8 feet of water. The 7 best fish weighed 9.22 lbs. Sun I trolled a good while then hand fished. Again I caught a limit and the best 7 weighed just over 9 pounds. Looks like the crappiei are moving to more shallow water. Most of these fish came from water about 7 feet deep. It is great weather for fishing and looks like the crappie are ready to bite.

Tyler and I fished on Columbus Lake Sat Aug 16th from 6 am to 10 am. We caught about 15 crappiei and as the pictures show some of them were very nice. The fish were in about 10 feet of water and close to the main river channel. We were hand poleing with orange and chartreuse 1/16 ounce jigs. Fishing seems to be hit or miss on Columbus right now and Sat was a hit day.
