Crappie fishing report for Columbus Tenn-tom 7-26-08

I fished all day Sat 26th and half day Sun 27th. I tried trolling all day Sat in water everywhere from 16 to 8 feet deep. Got drenched in the rain but was better than burning up in the sun. I only caught 5 crappiei and only one of those was any size. Catfish kept me entertained. They were much more active than the crappie.
I got on the lake again Sun at daylight and trolled again in other areas off the main river. Again I caught only 4 crappie and they were small.
Tough weekend on the Columbus Tenn-Tom Waterway.

Columbus Lake Fishing Report July 12th and 13th 2008

I fished Columbus Lake on Sat and Sun. and felt like I was the only crappiei fisherman left in Columbus. I only saw one other boat crappie fishingi all weekend. I guess they all took up skiing. Saturday I fished the main lake out near the main channel. Had a great morning catching about 25 white crappie in 3 hours. They were in about 8 feet of water on a ledge and near the bottom. I weighed the biggest 7 fish and they tipped the scales at 9 lbs 1 ounce. I released to 2 biggest fish that weighed 1 1/2 pounds each and kept a mess to eat that are in the picture.Read more
