Finally got to go wet a hook on the 3rd & 4th after all the rain left out. The main river had a slight rise, muddy & a current. A few days before they had been catcing a lot of good fish in 15 -18' on the main channel on structure. I couldn't fish the main channel so I went to the Prattt's camp area. Caught 16 keepers on Thurs. all over a pound. Caught A few small fish but not many. They were in 12 -15' of water on structure in the middle of the old river channel. I was using a new hair jig I found. Chartreuse head W/ Black & Green tail w/ gold sparkly in it. I can't remember who made the jigs. Somebody in Starkville I believe. Caught 19 Keepers & as many throw backs Friday in the same area using the Crappie 101 jig (Slimy) with a black & chartreuse tail. The bigger fish seemed to be in the deeper water, didn't get many bumps in water shallower than 12'. I had to cut trip short being I was getting sick again. Oh well I'll try again after Christmas. Maybe the main river will settle down by then.
