Great job Warren and Kirk. I enjoyed fishing the tourney with you guys and look forward to the others. My partner and I had seven fish to weigh but they were all between 12 1/2 and 15 inches. I think we came in 18th. It was a tough day but you guys seemed to have them dialed in. Congrats

So I'm thinking about heading to Arkabutla on Friday... With the notion that there's a front coming thru today or tomorrow.... Do you feel like its oportunistic for me to make the drive down for some slabers?? Any luck on Minnows? What color jigs hot right now?

Last saturday seem like larger minnows work best and most of our fish where caught shallow using southern pro tubes orange and chartuse.

Thanks Team Roper I've only had the pleasure of fishing a few Tournaments with nice weather along with catching some pretty Nice Slabs with my child hood buddy Kirk lewis. We both are now Members of a very special Crappie Organization those Guys really made us feel at Home.

Thanks MCC.

Angling for Crappie is popular throughout much of North America. Methods vary, but among the most popular is called 'Spider Rigging', a method characterized by a fisherman in a boat with many long fishing rods pointing away from the angler at various angles like spokes from a wheel. Anglers who employ the Spider Rigging method may choose from among many popular baits. Some of the most popular are plastic jigs with lead jig heads, crank baits or live minnows. Many anglers also chum or dump live bait into the water to attract the fish hoping the fish will bite their bait. Crappie are also regularly targeted and caught during the spawning period by fly fishermen, and can be taken from frozen ponds and lakes in winter by ice fishing.
