It was cold and windy Saturday, but we were on a mission for some fresh Crappie so Blastr1 could make some of his crappiei cakes or crappie patties according to whom you might ask. We drug around till about ten and then hit the lake looking around, we found fish in several different places and had a good three hour fishing trip just looking and visiting and talking about the cold weather bite and what a great year of fishing we have had and how well the Good Lord had blessed us this year through out the year. Blastr1 and I had a great outing and Blastr1 kept a nice mess for the crappie cakes!

A flat is just as it sounds. This is an area of shallow water that has no defined drop into deeper water. The water depth is uniform or gets deeper very gradually. Flats can be found at the backs of all the bays, in coves within the bays and on the main lake where the flat land adjacent to the river was covered up by water when the rivers were backed up by damming.
