Only got to fish half days both Sat and Sun. and the east wind made it a little tough both days. I caught several males up on the banks but they were small. I did finally get out in 8 to 12 feet of water and catch some pretty nice females. I was using the orange sparkle crappie101 head and black and chartreuse tail. Shannon fished with me Sun he caught more than me on the lime green head with black and chartreuse tail. Water is still muddy in most areas and stained even to the back of the gravel pits. I am thinking this next weekend is going to be a great weekend to catch Columbus crappie.

Ray,
They have passed a new law in Ms. When I'm at work and cannot fish, they are not allowed to bite. The bad weather and rain is included also I'm sure. After the 14th though it's going to be on. I should have my new Crappie 101 jig heads waiting at home. Now if I can convince my wife the importance of having my boat batteries charged I'll be set to go. I figure by then the weather will be warm and the river not rising. Anyway we have high hopes of such things.

Hey Rdendy. Thanks for the jig order. I know you will be just as pleased as we have been through the testing. As you can see ths is the only thing we do to help support the cost of the site.
You know there is going to be a tournament down on your part of the Tenn-Tom on the 16th. It is the West Alabama crappiei club and should be lots of fun. I am going to fish it so I get to meet the guys. Hope I do not have to run all the way back to Columbus to catch fish. Let me know if you are going to fish the tournament. You can find the contact info and all in the tournament schedules forum.

I can't wait to try the jigs out. I told the wife to put them in a safe place until I get home. I don't know if I'll fish the tournament or not. I would like to but probably won't if I have to get Al license to do so. It didn't state what areas you could fish. If it's from the lock up there are lot of good places in between to fish. I sent them an email asking about the license. From where my camp is in Ms I can fish Al with my MS license. But not sure about putting in at the landing there. If I don't fish it I'll go to the weigh in. So maybe we'll meet up there.

Sounds great. Let us know what you think of the jigs. I am thinking of coming down to Nashville Ferry Sat. You going to be fishing?

Yes I will be fishing the tournament. I want to meet the folks at West Alabama crappiei. I have heard they put on good tournaments. I have not been down there in several years. How are the water conditions? I am going to come down to Nashville Ferry and fish this Sat and hopefully find my way around a bit. Let's make sure we meet up at the weigh in.

I don't get off work until the 14th(14 days on 14 days off schedule) I'll be at Nashville Ferry fishing from the 16th (after lunch) to probably the 21st. Stop by and I'll show you around. Fishing has kind of slowed from what I'm hearing due to all the high wind.
