Grenada Lake Mississippi Summer crappie fishing Report
Charlie and I went to Grenada lake Saturday morning to fish the Thunder on the Water Crappie tournament. We had not been to Grenada this year but figured it would be fun to go fish in the blind and see what we came up with. We fished hard and tried a lot of things but only had 1 keeper crappiei at 11:30. We finally found some crappie that would bite and that were big enough to weigh-in and we were out of time. I made a goof and thought we had to be in the weigh-in line at 1:00 when really we had to stop fishing at 1:00. I am not saying at all we could have won just one of those mistakes I hate to make. We hand poled crappie101 jigs around standing trees in 12 to 15 foot of water and "Flamingo" and "Hooker" were the colors of choice.
We had a great time and enjoyed seeing some of the Grenada folks we have not seen in a while.
Here is a pic of Charlie with a 2.16 and a 2.24 we did manage to catch. I have been away from Grenada a while but when did it start having black crappie weighing 2.24?
