How to splice a transducer wire?

I broke the wire on my humminbird 525 depth finder and was wondering if I could splice the wire back together. Anyone know if this will work?

Hey Him. You can splice the wire on that unit back together and it will work fine. I broke mine on the 565 and spliced it with no problems.
I would recommend you use solder when you put the wires back together.
I would also use liquid tape to cover the connections before you tape.
Just for good measure wrap a piece of aluminum foil around the connection and tape it up.
Also double the wire back up and put a small wire tie on it to keep it from pulling apart again.
