I usually do not jump on the new software versions as soon as they come out so I can see what everyone has to say about them. Have any of you tried the new 4.970 and if so what does it do and do you like it.

I have had it loaded for couple of weeks and I like it. Also loaded it on 4 other boats for friends and family. The main thing it does is correct the reading problems we had seen in shallow water 6 feet and less. The reading no longer jump around in those depths. Have heard others say the images are more clear not real sure about that but i seems stable and definitely needed.

RAY I PUT THE UPDATE ON MY 997 NOW I CANNOT GET THE WATER TEMP TO SHOW.. IT SHOWED BEFORE I INSTALLED THE UPDATE BUT WE TOOK IT OUT LAST WEEK AND NO TEMP. THE SYSTEM MENU SHOWS TEMP CONNECTED WE CHECKED CONNECTIONS AND ALL WERE GOOD. GOT ANY IDEAS .THANKS MARK

Mark. Sorry for the late response I did not see this question. You will need to go into the set up menu and reassign the data field to show temp where you want it. If this does not make sense let me know and I will go through the buttons you need to press to make it happen.
