Charlie and I fished Pickwick Lake Saturday. We spent a great deal of the day scanning with the Humminbird SI and looking for some deep ledges. We decided before we went would would not fish any of our normal places. We did get to fish some and caught a few nice crappiei all in places we had never fished before. It was fun to go to a lake you have been to hundreds maybe thousands of times and find all new places and pull some nice crappie off them.
I also got to try our some new baits from the Lake Fork Trophy Lures company. I got some of the 2 1/4 inch baby shads and they looked really good to the human eye so I was anxious to give them a try. I caught the crappie I caught on the blue pearl you see in the picture. I really like the large glitter flakes in these baits and I was also impressed with how these baby shads did not put twist in my line even though I was fishing some water that was 25 foot and even more. I think these are going to be durable plastics as well. I used the same shad all day and it was none the worse for wear.
I give these LFT Baby shad a thumbs up and plan on using them more. If you want to see all the many colors and and buy some here is the link.
