RAY MY YOUNGEST SON IS WANTING TO GO TO REELFOOT BEFORE HE STARTS HIGH SCHOOL NEXT MONTH, I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO FISH IT TOO. ALWAYS HEARD ABOUT THE STUMPS AND SNAKES, ALONG WITH THE BLUEGILL AND CRAPPIE OF COURSE. WE ARE CONSIDERING GOING THE 28TH OF JULY FOR3 DAYS. ANY INFO ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT THIS TIME OF YEAR OR WHAT RAMP IS BEST,EVEN WHAT TYPE GEAR IS BEST . I PLAN ON TAKING MY CRAPPIE BOAT; 19' FIBERGLASS. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANKS MARK MORRIS

Mark, you will be fine in your boat as long as you go slow. I havent heard any reports but i would probably try lower basin somewhere between swan basin and green island. You should find some fish there. I would slow troll minnows and try jigs tipped with minnows.

DTG.... THANKS FOR THE INFO HOPEFULLY SOMETHING BESIDES SNAKES AND MOSQUITOS ARE BITING. LOOKS LIKE SPIDERRIGGING IS THE WAY TO GO. THANKS AGAIN MARK

Mark I am no Reelfoot expert by far but all I have ever heard is Reelfoot is a very tough lake in the summer. I hope John Woods and DTG can give you more info.

TRY FISHING OUT FROM BO'S LANDING IN 8 FT. OF WATER SLOW TROLLING MINNOW RIGS. JIGS ARE SLOWER THIS TIME OF YEAR. FISH WERE CAUGHT IN THIS AREA FRIDAY AFTERNOON. 1 LB. TO 1.5 LB FISH! ONLY 2 FT. DEEP IN 8 FT WATER.
