River Stripers

Caught a few nice stripers on the river the other day, with the biggest two being a 10.5Lb hybrid and an 11LB rockfish. The rockfish was caught on an Alabama rig and the hybrid was caught on a zoom fluke. Slow rolling the baits across the bottom was the ticket to success. I really enjoy catching the stripers on artificial baits. Most of the time you will feel a good solid thump when they hit. But sometimes they will just try to knock the rod out right of your hand, like that big hybrid did. Fun Trip!

Also, was able to take my boy to Ky Lake over his Christmas break. We caught a few nice fish on bass assassin lures, fished in about 15-28 ft of water. Good Times!

Both trips were taken right before this artic blast of cold air hit. Until it warms up, this fair weather fisherman is done.
