I have 2 parties out on a crappiei guide trip today on Sardis lake. My partner Brad Taylor is helping me today and the bite is a little slow and the wind is tough. Don McNutt, Mike and Pat are hanging in there as we slow troll these double minnow rigs on B&M poles and try to catch some crappie in some water that is not so rough from the winds. We will have a end of the day report later today.

A flat is just as it sounds. This is an area of shallow water that has no defined drop into deeper water. The water depth is uniform or gets deeper very gradually. Flats can be found at the backs of all the bays, in coves within the bays and on the main lake where the flat land adjacent to the river was covered up by water when the rivers were backed up by damming.
