Crappie Dale of Xtreme Crappie Fishing Team & Rich Mathews of The Ozark Secrets bait Co., head out for some summer slab crappie fishingi on Lake Fork, Tx.This year has been slow to start but after the numerous amounts of rain and cooler days weve started to see a bigger number of Quality fish being caught. Alot of fish including brood fish can be found in open water over deep brush piles scattered over the lake. Early mourning good number of crappiei can be found under bridge pillings, pretty much the norm except our numbers of fish have been going up. I would suspect do to these early weather patterns. All in all it made for a good day with some 2lb plus crappie caught not many big fish rather more in the 10-14 inch range. But ill take what i can get' thats fer sure most of us have seen worst, there's no doubt there!

Here in this pic Crappie Dale & Rich mathews settle in for what it looks like a strong front mixed with rain and heavy winds. Thats when the descission was made to get back under bridge pillars and tie off.

Rich is Quite handy with a fillet knife think he must be part Samurai!! LOL not to mention camera shy!!!!

We used BNB Crappie Jigs: 1/16oz CLDT Blueboy by Dennis North Ozark Secrets new Tube Baits, 1/32 oz size and the Pro Series models by Crappie Dale,

Allso i used a 6# Hi vis Line BP and a ultralite spin combo 4.6-5.6 ft for the bridge pillings. Dont want to knock off any tips.Well the wind got up and like always cut our trip short, but its always adventure to go fishing with Crappie Dale

Its my opinion its just plum hard to beat a good hand tied jig for crappie, although a good plastic or even a small minnow can make the differance in going home empty handed or standing in line at the next weigh in!!!

Will see everyone at the Crappie USA Crappie Tournament on Lake Fork,Tx
