2012 Charlie Kent Memorial Crappie Tournament Results

We had a great turnout for the first Charlie Kent Memorial Crappie Tournament. The tournament collected and exceeded our $1,000 goal.

Our $500 winning team was Jeff & Chandler Honnoll and Jeff Sansing with a big fish of 1.91 lbs.

It was unknown to the group, but we also had a prize for smallest fish.  Marcus Honnoll and Jim Berry knocked team Humber out of this position with the smallest weight of 1.00 lb.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this tournament.  We are already looking forward to next years tournament in the Baysprings area.  The St. Jude website for Charlie will be up for a couple more weeks for donations for anyone who may want to donate.

A flat is just as it sounds. This is an area of shallow water that has no defined drop into deeper water. The water depth is uniform or gets deeper very gradually. Flats can be found at the backs of all the bays, in coves within the bays and on the main lake where the flat land adjacent to the river was covered up by water when the rivers were backed up by damming.
