The tournament was created in memory of Charlie.  Charlie had a large heart for children and his favorite group that helps children was St. Jude Children's Hospital.  With that in mind, we formed this tournament with a direct connection with St. Jude.  All funds raised go directly to St. Jude.  We have reached our $1,000 goal for this year with the help of many great people.  For this, I thank you and I know Charlie would thank you.  These funds will greatly help children who are sick and desprately need treatment.

St. Jude Children's Hospital

I would like to thank West Alabama Crappie Club and all those you came out to participate in the Charlie Kent Memorial Crappie Fishing Tournament. Even with adverse weather conditions, the tournament was a success and would not have been possible without each of you.

We had 16 teams enter this year's tournament. With the tough conditions, we only had 4 teams catch the 7 crappie limit. The winning team's weight was a whopping 10.38! This weight would have been enough to win the summer national tournament this past year. Congrats goes to Tim Fields and Mike Michaels for winning the tournament. Not only did Tim and Mike walk away with the $500 first place prize.
